These are used to perform frontal drilling on the rotating workpiece. Due to the counter-rotating motion, the time required is less than with a fixed drill chuck.
They can be equipped with internal passage for high-pressure coolant, and are available in various versions: with ER collets, with ISO cone or prepared for HSK taper.
